2009 Hip-Hop Awareness Week: May 4th to May 9th
We will send Athens on a six day hip-hop trip as we see how hip-hop has grown beyond our backyard!

May 4th: Poetry Showcase featuring OU and Athens finest poets. Front Room Coffeehouse 7 to 9pm
May 5th: “White America in Hip-Hop” Forum featuring OU students and professors. Multicultural Center, 2nd Floor Baker 7 to 9pm
May 6th: MC Workshop so you can learn how to rock the mic right! Multicultural Center from 7:30pm to 9pm
May 7th: B-Boy Workshop with Kids on Campus in Plains Elementary in The Plains, Ohio from 3:30pm to 6pm. If you would like to go (because this is a community service opp), then email the contact below
May 8th: Movie Showing – “Five Sides of a Coin” with a discussion on the globalization of hiphop. Multicultural Center from 4 to 6pm
May 9th: Island Heat Music Festival 12 to 9pm at the Big Red Barn. That’s right, we made that hiphop too! Tickets are $15 if you get them from us, $25 at the gate
